what we do

We Protect Stories, Celebrate Black Voices, and Inspire a Culture of Reading

We turn ideas into action — creating spaces, resources, and movements that protect the freedom to read.

From ideas to impact, we build spaces, tools, and movements that protect the freedom to read and ensure stories remain open, accessible, and uncensored.

Books are more than pages — they are windows, mirrors, and tools for liberation. As book bans increase, especially against Black authors and inclusive histories, we work to keep these stories accessible and celebrated.

Through education, cultural storytelling, national partnerships, and community tools, The Banned Book Tour empowers people to engage, learn, and protect the literature that shapes our society.

We collaborate with educators, families, artists, and advocates to build awareness, deepen knowledge, and spark meaningful conversations around censorship and the future of public education.

We uplift authors, share community stories, and create spaces where readers can connect, learn, and take action.

of STORIES & VOICES

Every banned book tells a story — of culture, struggle, and resilience. We celebrate the authors, histories, and communities that weave the rich tapestry of our shared civilization, ensuring these voices remain heard and preserved.
